Welcome to My Web Site...

book cover for art adventures in felt and in paper.

NEWS!! I am featured in this book, 1000 Artisan Textiles, published by Quarry Press in April, 2010. (Special thanks to editors Sandra Salamony and Gina Brown.)

Featured are two of my wearable art felted flowers visible in the "sold" items section in of my etsy shop: A Touch of Monet..and Purple and Green Wearable Art. These are in private collections in Kuwait and Kentucky. You can see more on my blogspot blog.

I have always been a collage artist, inspired by putting colors, shapes, images (and stuff that turns up and catches my eye) together in new ways...gathering together somewhat diverse materials in both my paper and felted art to create surprising transformations and make something new from them.

One of my specific intentions as an artist is to create art that adds COLOR to life and enlivens body, spirit and wall!

The photo at the right of this page shifts back and forth, the paper image merging into the felted one and back again, a way to illustrate my interest in bringing out the special qualities of both. You can see the Gallery and Felt pages for more on how I make things...and the Paper and the Artist pages for what inspires me.

The "banner image" at the top of each page comes from felted wool and other fibers that became a heart and hand, two of my favorite symbols and images, that "found their way" into the right mix of an abstract landscape.

This site will be an evolving expression of work in progress and of ideas and you can shop for hand felted art and accessories at my etsy store. I'm happy to report that the 'flowering paper arts" 2009 calendars are all sold. Check back for other flowering paper arts, new photos in the Gallery and news of 2011 calendars later this year. I'm thinking about making some non date-specific paper collage art instead..or also)

"We are all pilgrims on the same journey...but some of us have better road maps" is a quote I like (by Nelson deMille) that I have used in my artwork. It seems to fit for the route I am now on as an "artist with a website". Good quotes, it is said are "markers on the path" so please also check back for the next one that reflects my journey in art and life...and maybe yours.

Meanwhile, thanks goes here to all the people who continue to support my art, and to you for visiting this site and coming along for the ride.
